SWCA New Welcome Committee

The civic assoc. finally has several volunteers to make up a committee to Welcome  new resident’s.

We will provide them with information about our association, & the community.  The committee  will be using various means of obtaining when the new resident’s move in, however if you could also let me know @ of that address it would be helpful.

Wooden Poles on Jewett

John Kirkpatrick was able to get the following information:

I talked with Gary Wilfong with the City and street lights.   Cobra Head lights are being installed on Jewett and the streets just east of Jewett on the wooden poles that have been put up. (Cobra lights are what are on Karl Rd)

We are also checking whether more of these lights are planned for anywhere in this area.  The Civic Assoc. continues to support and work toward more of the decorative street lights for Sharon Woods (lights that are on Sharon Woods Blvd).

Be Aware of the following Possibly wanting to trim trees.

The following was posted by Salem Block Watch, however these people could be operating in Sharon Woods also.

If seen, report to CPD immediately and let me know also.

Pat Wood

Two tree trimming / theft suspects are a male and female that are currently driving a 1998 Ford black/gray pickup truck, Ohio tag EGP3224. They are posing as tree trimmers. The Detective said sometimes they do some work, but usually scam people out of thousands of dollars. If anybody sees them please call 614-645-4545.

Photos from Sharon Woods National Night Out 2017

We had a very successful evening – even had a visit from Columbus Police Chief Kim Jacobs & several other officers. We had a good turnout over the course of 3 hours – everyone seemed to enjoy themselves with the free ice cream (courtesy of Sharon Woods Civic Association), popcorn (courtesy of Alpine School) & hot dogs (courtesy of the Church of the Good Shepherd). The Chicken Hatch provided some great food & the music from Common Ground was the best! The children all had fun with the bounce house & more!

Of course we are always grateful to the Church of the Good Shepherd for the use of their property.

Thank you to all who came to celebrate our neighborhood, and to all those who helped organize the event. If you missed it this year we hope to see you next year.
