Tuesday, March 20th is my block watch coordinators meeting which includes all of the block watch coordinators in precinct 18 & 1. If anyone is interested in attending please let me know or show up and look for me, Pat Wood.
Our Block watch coordinators meeting will be held Tuesday the 20th of March 2018 at 7:00 PM @1120 Morse Rd. There are always numerous questions about solicitors in the neighborhoods, now is your chance to get the answers! We will have Ralph Jones from the Columbus City License Section speaking and he will be giving you information about the requirements of a Peddlers License. We will also have a detective from the property crimes section to answer questions about burglaries and related crimes.
As always everyone is welcome, bring your neighbors, friends and anyone whom would like to get good information! Best of all it is free, no fees, no hassles, and no payments!
We are in the process of putting together Sharon Woods’ National Night Out 2018, to be held Tuesday, August 7th. Once more plans are confirmed we will keep you posted.
- We are looking for a company or companies to help financially to purchase blue light bulbs to be distributed to our residents at the 2018 NNO.
- We are also looking for financial support to purchase or make bandanas for dogs to give to owners and ask them to be a part of a dog walker watch. We hope to start this in April or May.
WHAT IS DOG WALKER WATCH?
According to the Humane Society of the United States and the ASPCA, there are over seventy five million dog owners across the nation. That’s dozens, if not hundreds, of neighbors walking their dogs throughout the community at all times of the day, all days of the week, in all weather conditions. Dog Walker Watch encourages these neighbors to assist local law enforcement with the concept of “see something, say something”. They are extra eyes and ears while out walking their dog. The program enhances the partnership between police and the community while providing resources for neighbors to be more aware and how to effectively observe and report suspicious activity.
If anyone has or knows of a company that could help, please get in touch with Pat Wood, 614-406-4829 or email@example.com.
A helicopter was flying low around 3am on Monday morning on Sharon Woods near Schrock.
A home owner on Sharon Woods heard noises in their downstairs and though someone had broken in. CPD called. Fortunately it was a family member – so all is well.
The following is public information, however I did not put specific house numbers.
A homeowner in the 1800 block of Dorsetshire called CPD last evening around 11:20pm and reported someone trying to get in their back door.
CPD arrived and was able to trace foot prints & blood to a house in the 1800 block of Balsamridge where a 29 year old male was arrested. (he cut his hand when breaking the window to obtain entry).
Nothing was taken and no one injured.
According to CPD the helicopter was checking out the area around Dorsetshire as there had been a report of a possible break-in to a home.
I will report more when I get it and information is confirmed.

Sorry, someone asked if there had been a Go Fund Me Page set up – my answer:
No – this was not done. If anyone wants to donate you can contact me @ 614-406-4829.
Many Sharon Woods residents did a lot also for “Missy” however I am glad they didn’t mention us as don’t need them hanging around. Missy and grandparents should have their privacy!

We should see some “clean up” action on this house very soon. The family attorney has been in the house and he is taking responsibility to get it cleaned up and sold. I understand someone is interested in the property so we may see some action before the end of 2017!
Just to let you know “Missy” & her grandparent’s are doing great & Missy is in school and enjoying learning and making friends.
Several departments within the city of Columbus such as Code enforcement and others collect money and donate it every year. This year $1200 in gift carts went to Missy and her grandparent’s.
I want to thank all the neighbors who donated money & clothing – Sharon Woods is a great place to live –
Merry Christmas & Peace on Earth.
